It's becoming more true every day: the number of single folk is increasing almost as rapidly as the range of new ways to cater for people who are single to mingle.

A scientific match?
The latest method involves Personal Construct Theory (PCT), a psychological theory that was developed in the 1950s by a former psychologist from the Aviation Psychology Branch of the US Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.Now obviously he wasn't worried about lonely marines. He developed a way of looking at human behaviour involving profiling, which looks at how individuals see the world. His theory has been updated a bit and is now applied to the dating game.And this is why you could be seeing seeing a psychologist: they may be able to tell you something about your personality with a view to building up a profile that leads to a scientific match. They could even predict what you and your new partner end up arguing about.
